Cowboy Bookworm About Us
Founded by Billy Huckaby, Cowboy Bookworm specializes in books about, by and for cowboys and cowgirls, specializing in hard to find and out-of-print books.

Huckaby grew up in rodeo, spending 15 years as a bareback and bullrider. He competed on the high school level and at Texas Tech University on the college level. At Texas Tech, Huckaby earned a degree in Agricultural Education, with an emphasis on Agricultural Communications.

A self-confessed book addict, Huckaby attempted to collect every book ever written on the sport of rodeo. It was from that obsession with books that the idea for Cowboy Bookworm grew. As Huckaby often tells people, "I buy books that I want to read and if they don't sell, I will sit around reading them in my old age."

His wife Ronna, assists with trade shows and bookkeeping, while daughter Cindy assists with computer work and trade shows. Daughter Stacy keep everyone entertained and both daughters do a great job of spending the companies future profits.

Huckaby also formed Wild Horse Press, aimed at keeping out-of-print rodeo books on the shelves, while publishing new titles. To date books published include Bob Crosby: World Champion Cowboy, Pete Knight: King of the Cowboys and Best Supporting Actors: Rodeo Clowns. Additional titles are planned for 2008.
